Opens Monday 26 October
Lunch and dinner every day, with culinary direction from Tom Sellers.
The restaurant
Named after John Penn, who shaped Stoke Park into the iconic estate it is today, our new restaurant celebrates history, elegance and a rich legacy that spans Buckinghamshire and beyond.
At the heart of The Penn lies a deep respect for British history and heritage. Our chefs’ ethos of looking back to go forward sees the historic Stoke Park estate not merely as a backdrop, but as a huge influence on the culinary direction of the restaurant. Inspired by the surrounding landscape, our menus reflect the changing seasons of the estate, its history, and its culture.
Seasonality and provenance are the cornerstones of our à la carte menu. Local ingredients of the highest quality, including fresh produce delivered daily from our kitchen gardens, combined with inspiration drawn from the grandeur of former great British country houses and classical French technique, form the starting point for all our menus.
Why The Penn
Culinary direction from the chef behind the two Michelin starred Restaurant Story in London.
An intimate dining room designed by the renowned Studio Shayne Brady.
Leaves and vegetables from the kitchen garden, tended by Kate Nannery, once senior kitchen gardener at Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons.
Burgundy poached oysters, Chiltern Hills venison, Chateaubriand Rossini for two and a crème brûlée soufflé.
Lunch from 12 noon to 2pm and dinner from 6pm to 8.30pm, seven days a week.
Behind its own door: a table for eight, beneath a striking private tropical aquarium, its light shifting across the room as evening sets in. Built for the celebrations and milestone toasts that deserve somewhere entirely apart from the main dining room.

The chef
Tom Sellers is the chef behind Restaurant Story in London, which holds two Michelin stars. He gives The Penn its culinary direction, and the menu nods to the classics, down to a Chocolate Negus named after Nico Ladenis.
At The Penn he works alongside Dom Robinson, formerly chef-patron of The Blackbird.
